Apex Mountain, Hedley, BC

Apex Mountain is a ski resort. If you have the money, as far as I know, it is for sale too. The whole area is a beautiful alpine country. Very much like Whipsaw. It very close to Whipsaw too. It is in Hedley, BC. The best of the trip other than camping by the lake and beautiful scenery was Plain Hard Trail. This trail was supposedly too hard for JKs to do. Well, all of us, finished the trail. Scott was leading us in his heavily built TJ. He is a highly qualified, avid and talented off road driver. He even had his challenges in certain areas. I was the only JK driver to complete the trail without pulling my winch line. That made me feel good. But not everybody was enjoying the trail as much as I did. In my opinion, Dillon in his open open sahara was the truly the winner of the day.

Trekken Offroad Trailer Review

A few weeks ago, my good friend, Pat Harrison, borrowed Trekken Offroad Trailer for a review. We put it into a test. First we took it to Apex Mountain for 2 days camping trip. Then we took it to Sumas Mountain for some hardcore offroad text. Here is the result…

Six Feet Under

We were on Six Feet Under trail a few weeks ago.  The reason it is called Six Feet Under is because it is a dry creek bed.  It was a lot of fun to drive and a lot of work to edit this with 3 camera footage 🙂

PART 1

PART 2

Walker Valley, WA

This trail is very tight.  It is an old logging area.  There are steep climbs, drive through forest, rock pits, mud pits, logs and roots sticking out and lots of terra walls to smash your fenders against.  It is very technical. A lifted rig with lockers is recommended.  If you like your paint and save your mirrors and windows, taking off your doors is a good idea.  The drive through forest is very scenic.  We spent almost 10 hours on the trail and all of us were looking to go back at the end.  Our hosts were from Washington and they did an excellent job by showing us the trail.  The permit is required to be on the trail.

Part 1

The second part of the my video contains best part of Walker Valley trails. The big rock on Ron’s Run trails took the paint off the hinge of my jeep’s right back door. When I was backing up to pick another line, the tree on the left side took my mirror out. I would highly recommend that during this trail keep all your limbs inside the jeep. We didnt want to try the V-rock but Evan decided to take run at the 2 rocks across the V-rock. Enjoy 🙂

Part 2

Lost Creek

I have been hearing about this Lost Creek. We decided to find it last weekend. Not that we only found the Lost Creek, we also crossed it. It was a lot of fun on a day with spring like weather. We thought we were going for a relax fsr drive but it turns out that more fun than we expected was waiting for us 🙂

Please also check out my friend Paul’s video for this trip.  He has a really nice blog and great pics and videos including Moab at www.overlandjeep.ca

Eagle Short Trip

Last weekend we were at Eagle Mountain, British Columbia. We started the trail in the afternoon and only went as far as snow line. We checked the washed away bridge and logs and tried to guess if it was possible to go across 🙂 On the way back we decided to take a look at the second look out. I have never been to that part of Eagle Mountain. Only a few minutes later we discovered that there lots dead fall on the trail. It was already 4 PM and we decided to head back. At the end of the trail, where we call gate keeper, I blew a bead on my left front wheel. Luckily the position of the jeep was good and with the help of James’s 60″ hi-lift we were able to lift my jeep enough to put the spare tire on. We also had to secure the jeep from left side to a tree and from to James’s jeep. So it was a great wheeling day 🙂

First Aerial Video

We were back in Squamish Area last weekend. My new friends Cedric and Krista joined me on this adventure. Cedric is an aerial videographer. I was so excited to have them with us for aerial videos and they were so excited to see what my jeep can do. It took us 6 hours to drive to the side of the lake and only 45 minutes to come back the same distance. There were close to 20 dead tree falls on the road. We pushed and pulled and managed our way through it. Cedric was only able to do 1 flight by the lake right before it got dark.

Please check out loftymedia.ca for Cedric’s other videos and photos.

Snow Wheeling

This is the video of our 3 runs over 3 days. We started on January 1, 2013 in West Harrison area. On 3rd we went to Eagle mountain and on 6th we were on Britannia FSR. We had plenty of snow. I broke my steering stabilizer on Eagle mountain. Britannia FSR was full with fresh snow. We had to some logging but hey! this is how we maintain our access to our back country 🙂

We went up the Mamquam River FSR last weekend. It wasn’t a technical ride but the scenery was well worth. We also had a couple in their 2012 new JK Rubicon. It was the first time they took their jeep offroad. I hope they liked it. My jeep is a lot of fun after the mods but I sometimes miss the stock form of my jeep when I see other shiny stock jeeps 🙂
